Overall objective: To contribute creation of a critical mass of (young) people from all over Macedonia that are capable to express their different opinion publicly, by their connection through social media.
Brief description: A series of public debates with young people organized in 7 cities in Macedonia with up to three (3) speakers/motivators to start the discussion and to present their opinion. The speakers were: 2 students’ leaders of the Student’s plenum (ad hoc initiative on better law regulative and conditions in the high education), green activists and a writer active on social media with critics to different deviations in society.

Result:
- Facebook group in order to initiate and keep discussion on the general topic;
- Tools for communication between the participants of debates and other interested persons as followers via social media (mailing list with over 100 participants).
2. Public debate: How will Galichica develop?

Overall objective: To define solutions for sustainable development of the National Park Galichica, by which the problems with the harm economic activities will be overcome. Special emphasis on smart transport on the shore and in the Lake Ohrid, which is part of the National Park.
Brief description: Public debate, June 21st in Ohrid, 10am-14pm, 47 participants, media followed. Speakers and moderators: Natasha Amdiu, President of the Green Institute; Liljana Popovska, green MP; Ana Colovic-Lesoska, Eco svest; Prof. Dr. Trajce Talevski, Dragana Velkovska, Ilina Arsova and Kliment Arnaudov, Ohrid SOS; Prof. Beti Dejanova, Medical Faculty; Prof. Jane Acevski, Dean, Faculty of Forestry; Aleksandar Jovanoski, ONE, Tourist Cluster of Southwest Macedonia.
Activities:
Through two panels, the speakers addressed the development plans of Galichica and the impact on the environment and the people, than emphasized possible solutions and sustainable ways of development of the region with alternative forms of tourism, with Presentation of Smart Ohrid, as an eco-friendly concept, by experts from Eco Svest.
Result:
- Public promotion of Smart Ohrid by Eco Svest, the eco-friendly concept for the whole Ohrid shore.
- Sustainable development of the National Park Galichica by: alternative forms of tourism; sustainable transport (bikes, small e-bus, solar boat).
- Campaign to save our natural heritage - the National Park Galicica is necessary.
3) Conference: Green policies as catalysts for development of Macedonian democracy and quality of life

Overall objective: To contribute creation of a critical mass of green activists and supporters in Macedonia, ready to undertake joint action in order to implement the human rights standards and raise the issues of green policies, with final goal to become priorities of the Government.
Brief description: A 2-days conference, September 24-25th in Skopje, 97 participants (human rights and green activists from 30 municipalities), wide media coverage, speakers: Natasha Amdiju, President of Green Institute; Reinhard Bütikofer, Member of the European Parliament, Co-Chair of the European Green Party; Rosalie Smit, Director of the Foundation Bureau de Hellling, Netherlands; Liljana Popovska, leader of the Green party DOM; Lulzim Haziri, Executive Director of CSO ADI Gostivar, President of the Ad Hock Monitoring body for the media; in the workshops - experts from CSO-s and green movement.
Activities:
1. Panel: Green policies contribution towards development of democracy and quality of life.
2. Panel: Priorities of the green policies in Macedonia in function of democracy and quality of life.
3. Four (4) parallel workshops on topics:
- Human rights and democracy
- Social Justice
- Environment and the quality of life
- Green Economy and green jobs.
4. Debate on the tools for advocacy and lobbing towards improvement of the policies and legislation, concerning above topics.
Results:
- Defined 4 priorities and topics of the Green Institute for the future activities.
- The final conclusions from each of 4 areas used for the future activities of the green activists in Macedonia and has been a base for the next project, as a follow up activity (discussing and checking the findings from the workshops with the citizens).
